Student Discipline/Incident Reports
During the 2018-2019 school year, there were 938 major referrals written. 148 individual students make up the 938 major referrals. Black students were referred at a greater rate than any other race of students. There were 630 major referrals written for black students. Black students make up 29% of the Ligon student population, but make up 67% of the major referrals. White students make up 54% of the Ligon student population, but only make up 21% of the major referrals. 335 of the major referrals written were for students identified as special education students. 29 individual special education students make up the 335 SPED referrals. 617 of the major referrals took place in a classroom. The four types of incidents that made up most of the major referrals were physical aggression/fighting, compliance with directives, school/class attendance, and substantially disruptive or dangerous behaviors.
